The old ClockTower near the "Star" Ferry concourse
in Tsim sha Tsui is a landmark from the Age of Steam, when
trains arrived here with passengers who had set off from
London weeks before on the world's longest railway journey.
Part of the original Kowloon - Canton Railway Station, it
was completed and came into operation in 1921.

The Hong Kong Museum of History include a fascinating 7,000
sqm permanent exhibition "The Hong Kong Story"

related to the archaeology, history ethnography and natural
history of Hong Kong and South China. Open Monday to Saturday
10am to 6pm; Sunday and public holidays 10am to 7pm. Closed
Tuesdays.
The Hong Kong Science Museum makes leaming fun. There are
500 exhibits, 60 per cent of which are hands-on. These exhibits
offer insights into a wide range of science - relate subjects.

The Teddy Bear /Kingdom (Tsim Sha Tui)

Sha Tin Racecource (Sha Tin)
No trip to Hong Kong is complete without a visit to one
of the world's finest racecourses. Opened in 1978, Sha Tin
Racecourse has a capacity of around 80,000 spectators and
is home to the Hong Kong International Races in December:

Hong Kong Heritage Museum (Sha Tin)

dedicated to preserving the material and visual culture

Ching Chung Koon (Tuen Mun)
Original opened as a rural retreat in 1949, this peaceful
oasis in the heart of Tuen Mun's crowded residential estates
features pavilions, lotus ponds and bonsai tree.The ground's
Taoist temple contains many treasures, including lanterns
from Beijing's Imperial Palace.
=>take bus 60m from the bus terminus at Tsuen Wan MTR
station and alight at Tuen Mun Town Centre. From there,
take Light Rail train 505 to Ching Chung station
Ping Shan Heritage Trail (Yuen Long)
This trail reveals some of the mostt interesting historical
buildings still standing in the Yuen Long District in the
New Territories. It provides an insight into the very foundation
of Hong Kong - life hundreds of years ago when hard - working
peasants tilled their smallholdings. This is also the home
of the Tang Clan - one of the five great clans who established
themselves in the New Territories almost 1,000 years ago.
=> Take bus 68M from the Tsuen Wan MTR station to Yuen
Long,then change to Light Rail train 610,614, 615 or 721,
alight at Ping Shan Station and walk about 10 minutes to
reach the southern tip of Ping Shan Heritage Trail along
Ping Ha Road. Kam Tin Walled Village (Kam Tin)
This fascinating 16th Century walled villagenearYuen Long
has narrow streets, stone houses, a temple and an ancestral
hall

Mai Po Wetlands (Yuen Long)
More than 360 species of birds have been recorded at Mai
Po, along with a number of Hong Kong's reptile and mammal
species. This site was listed as a Wetland of International
Importance in 1995.

This residence was built in 1865 by a senior Man clan member;
who achieved the highest grade in the Imperial Chinese Civil
Service Examinations. A cultural gem, this is one of the
most beautifully decorated buildings in the New Territories.

(Tsuen Wan)
This restored, two - centuries - old walled village was
once a prosperous Hakka farmer's family compound, comprising
12 houses set within defensive walls. It now houses a folk
museum. Open daily from 9am to 5pm. Closed Tuesdays
and major public holidays.

Tsing Ma Bridge (Tsing Yi)
The world's longest road - and - rail suspension bridge,
the gracefuI 2.2 - kilometre Tsing Ma Bridge is one of the
landmarks of Hong Kong. The Lantau Link Visitors Centre
and Viewing Platform north of the bridge on Tsing Yi provides
excellent views of this and two adjoining bridges. Visitor
Centre opening time: Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday
and Sunday 10am to 6:30pm. Closed Wednesdays and major public

Dominating the skyline from its commanding site on a hillside
overlooking the New Territories town of Fanling, the temple
is a superb example of Taoist design and craftsmanship.

Tau Heritage (Fanling)
Lung Yeuk Tau means "Mouhtain of the Leaping Dragon"
in Chinese. The trail takes walkers through almost a dozen
centuries-old villages, five of which are enclosed wIthin
stout walls for safety reasons. Most are connected with
the Tang Clan, one of the historic Five Great CIans of the

Lookout Tower at Tai Po Waterfront Park (Tai Po)
The magnificent Waterfront Park in the New Town of Tai Po,
in the northeast New Territories, features a 32-metre Lookout
Tower. Resembling a rocket launch pad. the tower gives visitors
an excellent view over Tolo Harbour and the rugged countryside
stretching towards the boundary with Mainland China. Opening
time: 9am to 6pm daily.

Sai Kung Hoi Pong Square (Sai Kung)
Stretching along the waterfront at Sai KungTown Centre Sai
Kung Hoi Pong Square is home to a dozen quality seafood
restaurants.The stunning variety of fresh seafood in the
glass tanks outside the restaurants and the relaxing waterfront
scenery further enrich the unique dining experience, Don't
forget to spare some time to wander around Sai Kung Town

Tai O Fishing Village (Lantau Island)
Distinguished by the stilt houses in its main creek, Tai
O on LAntau Island is also home to temples and monasteries.
It is inhabited mainly by the Tanka people, descendents
of Hong Kong 's first settlers.

Giant Buddha (Lantau Island)
The world's Largest seated, outdoor, bronze Buddha sits
serenely atop Ngong Ping Plateau amid the spectacular mountain

Yiu Street in Central) to Mui Wo, Lantau Island, then bus

This tiny dumbbell - shaped island is one of the most densely
populatated islands with many of its vilages still clinging
to old traditions. The exotic annual Cheung Chau Bun Festivals
(8 Apri on the Chinese calender) is not to bee missed.

on the type of ferry Lamma Island
Lamma Island is home to traditional Chinese food shops jumbled
together with modern low - rise building. Sok Kwu Wan village
is famous for its open - air seafood restaurants. Yung Shue
Wan also has western - style restaurants and bars to enjoy.
