| Location The River Kwai Hotel is situated in the heart of Kanchanaburi, (CBD) and only 129km from Bangkok. To get to the hotel from Bangkok: Contact the hotel to arange transportation for your convenience (for the backpackers, first get to the Southern bus terminal of Bangkok (Sai-Thai). Take a tour bus to Kanchanaburi, at the bus terminal in Kanchanburi you can take a taxi (van) or walk to the hotel, the hotel is only 1km from the bus terminal). The hotel is 3km from the River Kwai Bridge, a well known tourist destination. Most shopping centers, restaurants and food markets are within a 2km radius. Kanchanaburi has most of the fast food outlets such as KFC & McDonalds. 7 Eleven is opposite the hotel. Tesco Lotus is 5km from the hotel. The Tourist Police station is situated next to the bus terminal. Bus Service Time Table: There are many tour busses available at any time from and to Bangkok, please view the time table. Train Service Time Table: The train is another method for traveling, it is the ideal way to view the River Kwai Bridge. |
